His teaching and research activity is focused on the philosophy of law and related fields (general theory of law, moral philosophy, theories of justice, legal methodology and argumentation, deontic logic, etc.).
More specifically, his research activity has focused basically on the study of normative conflicts, and most particularly, on moral dilemmas and collisions between legal principles (such as basic constitutional rights) and deliberation as a mechanism for resolving them. He has also carried out research and published on legal argumentation, theoretical foundation of human rights and, more recently, the application of artificial intelligence to legal decision-making processes.
