Doctor by the Universitat de Lleida with the thesis Estudio de la empatía y burnout de los médicos y enfermeras de Atención Primaria de la Región Sanitaria de Lleida y su relación con las variables clínicas 2015. Supervised by Dr. Jorge Soler González, Dr. Montse Esquerda.

Oriol is the clinical director of a hospital emergency department, where he also works as a family doctor. He is a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Lleida and has a master's degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. He is the principal investigator of the ERLab, which carries out research on emergency medicine at IRBLLEIDA. As of 2023, he also leads a research group on digital health at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). In addition to his medical practice, he is an associate professor at the University of Lleida and an ethical advisor to several social institutions. In 2021, he was awarded the Young Researcher Award by the Catalan Health Institute.
